GPS for drones

ResQ began as a relief network that matched wildfire donations to the right center by ZIP code. Now it is growing into GPS for drones. The figure shows the idea that joins the two: a request names a ZIP, and the aid lands on the pad of the center that owns it.

GPS puck and the route it fliesAid: the crate and the relief crossesA model, not a survey: one map unit is 20 m and the drone cruises at 15 m/s, so the farthest center, 79423, is 3.6 km out. Flights are sped up. The match is the real idea: a request carries a ZIP, and the drone lands on the pad of the center that owns it.
